The 14th GEICO High School Football Kickoff Will Be Held This Year

The 14th GEICO High School Football Kickoff will take place from Friday, Aug. 18, to Sunday, Aug. 27, this year. The seven-game schedule will be broadcast on the App and will include 54 players who are among the 300 and Junior 300 in rankings. The best Division I college football institutions, including Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, and USC, have already accepted 32 of the 300 athletes that are competing.

Friday, August 18
Langston Hughes (Ga.) at Carrollton (Ga.)

6 p.m. ET on E2 from Carrollton High School Football in Carrollton, Ga.

1. Langston Hughes, the current Georgia 6A state champion, went undefeated in 2022. The Panthers will be difficult to stop this year with Air Noland at quarterback. Dontrell Glover, a junior guard who has committed to Alabama and is ranked 162, is guarding the No. 28-ranked senior in the nation, an Ohio State prospect.

2.  Last season, Carrollton lost only to Mill Creek in the Georgia 7A championship game, falling just one game short of winning the state championship. TE The No. 112 senior (and commit to Alabama) Caleb Odem will once more receive passes from quarterback Julian Lewis. If not the best high school prospect nationwide, the sophomore signal caller is regarded as the top recruit in the class of 2026.

Friday, August 25 Play Football: 8 p.m. on E from Saraland High School in Saraland, Ala.

1. With a 13-0 record, Lipscomb won the Class II-AAA state championship in Tennessee last year. This featured stunning victories over opponents from Milton (Ga.) and Thompson (Ala.). 221 junior Chauncey Gooden, OG up front, the Mustangs secondary will be impossible to beat.

2.  On their road to winning their fifth state championship in seven seasons, Chaminade-Madonna only had one setback in the previous campaign (a defeat to Bishop Gorman, NV in the GEICO State Champions Bowl Series). There are Best 6 E-ranked players on the Lions, including 4 seniors: No. 9 Jeremiah Smith, a wide receiver who has committed to Ohio State, No. 11 Joshisa Trader, a wide receiver who has committed to Miami, No. 299 Davion Gause, an RB who has committed to North Carolina. Both No. 219 Kamare Williams and No. 129 Chris Ewald, both cornerbacks committed to Michigan, are juniors.

Four seniors who were listed among the top 300 are returning for John Bosco, which was the top-ranked team in the nation last season. No. 98 Marcellus Williams, a cornerback (USC pledge), No. 157 Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, an outside linebacker, and No.

Thomas Aquinas, a squad that usually ranks in the top ten nationally, earned its fifth consecutive Florida state championship last year. With No. 284, a wide receiver committed to Missouri, the Raiders’ offense is back in full force. Julian Marks, a junior DT ranked No. 247, anchors up front for the defense.

IMG Academy (Fla.) vs. St. Joseph’s Prep (Pa.) Play Football

IMG returns 15 players who are ranked on, including senior class leaders David Stone (DT) and Ellis Robinson IV (CB), both of whom are committed to Georgia. The Ascenders only suffered one loss all of last season, to Miami Central, and they are now a top-five squad in the country.

Last season, Joseph’s Prep won their seventh state championship in ten years (their lone defeat coming at the hands of St. Thomas Aquinas in the GEICO HS Football Kickoff). The top two seniors at quarterback are No. 264 Omillio Agard (a Wisconsin commit) and No. 250 Samaj Jones (a Cincinnati commit). Three players in the Hawks junior class are ranked in the top 300 on Junior: OLB Anthony Sacca (No. 124), DT Maxwell Roy (No. 161), and RB Isaiah West (No. 297).

Mater Dei Catholic (Calif.) at Carlsbad (Calif.) Play Football

Julian Sayin, the top-ranked DT-QB and Alabama pledge plays for Carlsbad and is ranked third overall in the senior class. Senior OLB Luke Ferrelli, who has committed to Stanford, captains the defense.

Last year, Mater Dei Catholic won the CIF-San Diego Section championship for the second consecutive year. RB Anthony McMillian (a San Diego State commit) and DB Isaiah Buxton (an Arizona commit) are back for the Crusaders. Carlsbad won this game 36-35 early in the season, with the difference being just one point.

Sunday, August 27 Play Football
Play Football Our Lady of Good Counsel (Md.) vs. St. Edward (Ohio)

Start Time: 1 p.m. on from First Federal Lakewood Stadium in Lakewood, Ohio.

In this top 25 national showdown, Good Counsel, a longtime Maryland power, will travel. With players like No. 57 senior Aaron Chiles, ILB (Florida commit), No. 123 senior Dilin Jones, RB (Wisconsin commit), and No. 53 junior Faheem Delane, S, the Falcons never lack quality.

In Ohio, Edward has won back-to-back Division 1 state championships. Ben Roebuck, an Ohio State recruit, and the twins Deontae and Devontae Armstrong are back up front for the Eagles, who have one of the greatest offensive lines in the country.
